Fashion Artwork by Fritz Kok
Born in Amsterdam, Fritz Kok emerged as a collage-artist in the mid-eighties, and, working from London, he produced iconic images under the name Indüstria for style magazine such as The Face, Interview and Manipulator. After working in the house of fashion designer Thierry Mugler, he picked up the camera himself, and by the mid-nineties became known for creating a futuristic language of beauty-imagery.
Kok combines elements from 40s cinema, science fiction and classic Vogue Beauty adverts, and his portraits of “danger-divas” seem to walk the thin line between exclusive kitsch and timeless beauty. His images have been seen in international magazines such as V, Cream, Spoon, Madame, as well as in numerous advertising campaigns. His art-series have been exhibited in galleries in London, Rome, Amsterdam and Sydney.
